SMTP Proxy/Spam Detection: Needs more options

20 out of how many spams ?

And were those 20 from mailing lists ? What does the report in the header say for these 20 ?

I've turned to back off now. Even on conservative it blocks a number of things that are real. I'm not sure on the numbers you requested I honestly didn't have time to look before clear them. I would say it blocked about 30 spam messages and about 6 or 7 real e-mails. I think maybe 2 – 6 were blocked from a mailing list. It let about 20 pass to my account at least mostly from a mailing list.

I would love to be able to fine tune it my self. Much like the way I change the Surf Control now. (Props on that BTW! It’s great) 

Make note of changes to the service in the next update and I'll give it another try see if it's better.

The ability to use a white list for known addresses you do not want to be labeled as spam would be nice.

woops, I just looked in the chroot and noticed that the spam threshold is set to "1" regardless of what you use in the webadmin. You can edit /var/chroot-smtp/etc/exim.conf-default and look for the exiscan_spamd_treshold line. Edit it there, 1 is even more than aggressive  [:)] 

I'll fix that plus add a whitelist for the next version.

So I'm guessing what ever number you change this to is what is the highest number of spam points it will let pass? If I set it for about 15 or so that would be more like it right?

I just ran a test with 550 spams, and a value around 5 seems to be "reasonable".

3 would be "aggressive" and 10 "conservative".

The "1" that was in there was used for testing and I forgot to remove it.

oh and you need to restart the proxy to make the change go into effect.

Call me what you will but know next to nothing about linux. (I do however have a repect for it, even if I do like to click check boxes more. ;-)

How would I go about restarting a proxy?

at the command line type '/sbin/init.d/smtp restart'

I have another idea for a Spam option. Instead of having "Aggressive", "Standard", and "conservative" why not have 1 - 10 ? That way we can pick what we want. Then put in the manual that 1 is aggressive, 3 is standard, and 10 is conservative? Just a suggestion ;-)
