we did most of the latest tests with Sentinel v1.4, I recommend using this version...

please use manual defined (virtual) IP in Sentinel!

I noticed that I had to use a virtual ip. I am using pre shared key. Is there anything I have to think about? Should packet filter be on? I am not using roadwarrior.

And what should the settings be inte the sentinel?

yes, it should work with the beta. Use Roadwarrior connection (ignore autopacketfilter settings in beta - atm they are always on), define a virtual IP for your PSK on ASL/IPsecConnections/RemoteKeys and in Sentinel->VirtualIPsettings - use same IP (of course  [;)]on...

Okay, now I got the connection working. Bot IKE Phase and IPSEC Phase connects. But thats where it ends.

After I connect I cannot access anything anymore. Bot my local network and the VPN network does not answer. But SSH Sentinel says the tunnel is up and running. I use SSH-Sentinel 1.4.

What is this?

sounds like the sentinel is connected to your internal lan while trying to establish the tunnel (to the same lan).. please check

Yes you were correct. I had "deny split tunneling enabled"

But now I can access my own network and the internet but still not the VPN network.

I can ping my virtual ip address. And I can still ping the ASL internet address. 

I remember with ASL 3.212 that when having a VPN tunnel you could not ping the interface you were connecting to.

I found it in the IPSEC livelog.

Interesting one here.. I can ping the internal IP of the ASL box, and connect to various ports/services on the ASL box internal NIC... but I can't get anywhere beyond that into the VPN.
