has anyone looked into integrating an email server into the astaro product??

this should be relatively easy to add or modify the other core modules...the hard part would be to integrate the email server into the GUI now that would be sweet!!
That would go against the security aspect of astaro.
However having all the Proxies, DHCP server, and such on the firewall go against security standards too. But a full fledge email server I do not think should reside on the firewall. Too many dangerous user accounts, too many added holes. You would also need either IMAP or POP to make it a full email server.
i personnally think Astaro should stay focused on security apps for the firewall.
all those services need no real user on the fireall!

Umm, usually a full email server and IMAP/POP need sometype of user table on the server server them. Yes the other services I mentioned do not. I was speaking of to have a full email server on the firewall and not just a relay.
no....only on a seperate server...the requierments are pretty strict...but if you follow them closely then after installing linux you only need to run one script to install the email server
