Running Astaro 3.x inside Connectix VirtualPC

I am trying to run Astaro trial under Connectix VirtualPC (cheaper than VMWare), but have a problem.

I can't access the guestPC (Astaro) from the host (Windows2000). I can't even ping the guest PC IP number. I can't Webadmin neither.

Surprisingly I can access webaadmin and can ping the guest pc from a remote computer. 

Any idea?
I am also posting this message in a forum at Connectix, to see what do they answer...  [:)]

    Dont tell us you want to run Astaro Firewall in VM ???  hehe...you're joking man ??

    Maybe he wants to try it b4 running it on a real PC... i do the same with ASL 2.X and VMware... didnt install it for real because the lack of pppoe support... now i install 3.2 for real , and the release its really buggy, beside the eth1 (external) not renew the ip from my ISP dhcp server, sometimes it does NOT assign a IP to eth0 (local), i cant reinstall the licence again after erasing it, and since last night, it deny external connections, even if the rules are defined, and worked b4.. , i didnt touch anything (besides rebooting a couple of times to bring the pppoe link UP again) since last night.. no external connections to the servers on my LAN  [:(]

    i see no heavy Problems at the moment...i use no VPN right now..only Problem i know is that the Accounting dont works properly but thats cosmetic....

    Argento: I'm just not seeing your problems on my setup, uptime is now 6 days with 3.2 and I'm pushing around 3-400 MB of traffic through Astaro a day, not huge but reasonable.

    Four physical interfaces and 8 IPs alltogether, servers in the DMZ with decent traffic and reasonably compicated routes and DNAT mappings.

    PPTP VPNs coming into and out through the box, with Mail, DNS, and Web proxies all going strong (with antivirus on the mail proxy)

    So far no major problems, yes there was a bit of a learning curve, yes I had to make sure I got the hardware solid before rolling it out live, but I'm pleased with this product, its doing things other firewalls can't and apart from the wacky price model I'm very pleased.

    Yes Biffa, but i presume you are using static IP's not dynamic ones (at least not using pppoe), im not the only one with that problem, apparently the other problems are related to this one (cant get the dynamic IP from ISP), im not a linux literate, so i cant hack the ASL to know for real what is the problem, but , i noticed that ASL dont assign a IP to eht0 (internal) unless already have a IP on the eht1 (external), so if it cant connect to my ISP, there's no way to connect to the ASL using ssh, or htts over the lan, my firewall does not have keyboard or monitor attached to it, and its on a real hard place to reach (i have to move 2 desks b4 reaching the box) for attach a keyb, and then move my workstation, to remove the monitor cable.. attach it to the ASL box... getting simple... a pain in the arse  [:(] 
    I know the ASL developers points his product to med-big size lan/wan and that lans dont use pppoe to connect to the inet, so i really hope that they fix that problem sooner than later.
    Some ppl reports that the problems with pppoe arises with old hardware... and im using a P2@300Mhz with 160Mb RAM, its not old, but im only driving 2 machines behind the fw, with a 256/160kb inet connection.. i think it should work for that.

    You didn't mention pppoe in your posts before mine in this thread, so as much as I wish I was psychic, I'm not unfortunately (would be good sometimes to help me understand the wife and daughter)     

    Yes I understand that there is a known issue with pppoe and Astaro, and I am not surprised as this is the first release with it in. I'm confident they will find a cure for it. But you are correct in that I don't need it myself.
