Controlling Package Checksum : FAILED

No matter what I do I can't install any version past 3.020. I get this error every time. I download the iso.gz from the website and the checksum is fine. I then try to extracted the iso and burn it but it never works. I have extracted the iso with winzip 8, winrar, and win32 version of gzip and burned with Nero and CD Mate on a 24x Plextor on Win XP. No matter what combination of unzipping and burning I use the install always fails with

What is the problem here? What has changed since 3.020 in the iso.gz files on the web that would make every version since fail with the same error?

    I have same problem with 3.050. I can see that kernel reports error from CD-ROM, that it can't read some file. My Machine is Pentium 233 MHz, 64 MB RAM, and i have tried couple CD-ROM drives (older 16X and new 52X) but same problem.

    I have exactly the same problem:
    - the md5sum of the iso is correct
    - I burn it with Nero (WinXP/Athlon 1.3GHz, 512Mb RAM), and a x24 burner, voluntarily slowed down to x16 (to be safe), without errors

    -> incorrect checksum

    I'm trying again using a CD-RW burned at x4...

    I forgot to tell: the box I burn the CD with is not the one I try to install to...

    The destination box is:
    - 800MHz Duron with 128Mb RAM
    - MSI K7T266 Pro-R mobo, IDE RAID unused & deactivated
    - 13Go IDE disk (Western Digital)
    - Matrox G200
    - 2 NICs (1 8029 and 1 80139)
    - Fireport 40 SCSI board
    - Plextor x32 CD drive
    - floppy

    Nothing exotic, nothing spectacular. ASL v2 installs just fine. I want to try v3 to see if it has one very important feature that prevents me from using v2...

    How come this damn thing isn't even able to connect itself to internet?! I can't afford a router! But this will go to another post, later.

    Well it worked. Burned at x4 on a CD-RW.

    Seeing the number of post on this subject, it seems this ISO is very very touchy about quality...

    Going back to the next isntallation stages, goodbye!
