Problems with IPC Vortex SCSI Controller

Hi,

tried to install the 3.050 beta on a system with a IPC Vortex SCSI controller. The hardwaredetection does not find any disks, so the installation stops at this point. The 2.x version had no problems with this controller.

Hello,

The installation should work if you correct configured a single virtual disk from RAID array.

Please check the installation log after hardware recognition step:
press Alt+F2 to get the second virtual console with a shell and type

less -S /var/log/install.log

Points to pay attention are log messages after strings like:

RAID controller found:
probing module gdth.o
Searching for HDs
Probing module sd_mod

Please post what yo'll find there...

Hi!

Thanks for your reply - have the same problem since the first 3.X beta release. But with me the installer doesn't even try to load the gdth.o module - so there are no such messages in the install.log file.

Any other clues?
