VPN using 3.050

Hi dancoh / all,

I've set up vpn ( pptp roadwarrior ) with no problem at ( in setup ) using local auth.

The probs I encountered are in stability. For no obvious reason at all, vpn connections are cancelled after a duration of round about five minutes.

Could not find anything in the logs.

Clients are Win ( 2k and xp ).

That is interesting and good to know. But I am more interested in standard connection than Road Warrior. Has anyone gotten that to work?

i have a IPSec VPN tunnel running between 3.051 and 2.23 with PSK. It runs without problems.

get the same problem with coonection VPN via IPsec between ASL and Win2K station.

The only solution that a found is PPTP ...

Trying to create IPSEC tunnel between 2 3.051 machines .. Is there any docs on how to setup the CA and the connection..

Finnaly!! It works but it is not logic. Road Warrior does not want to work but standard works.
One very important things it that the default GW has to be the external NIC. Otherwise you get a very unstable connection.

nice to now that you got it working DANCO and ANDY , but can you help the rest off us with some tips off how you got it working i used psk for security i will give you my setup maybe you can fill in for me (smoro1 maybe this can help you setup yours as well)

1. definitions---->networks define the remote network and external ip config in defenitions
2. Ipsec VPN----->remotekey create remote a psk key used the config with email adress (must be the same on both ASL's) 
3. ipsecs VPN----->connections
setup the connection name= fill in a name type=standart IPSec Policy=3DES Local Endpoint=external(interface) remote Endpoint=defined external ip remote interface
didn't use the Subnet definition  Auth Key=the defined psk key
4. made a rule alowing the external network to my network

the strange thing is the minute i activate the connections i cant ping the remote site anymore from within my network .
cant figure out why tips and hints are welcom
