Hack for auto-refresh PPPoE-interface

No, but it is essential...

I need to refresh my connection every few hours with a script that telnets into my ADSL modem. When I move that onto PPPoE it would be very useful...

 so we really need it in ASL

I need this also, or a way to manually reset it.
Our PacBell DSL has been getting reset, and ASL shows the PPPOE interface DOWN, and the only way I know to reset it is to reboot ASL?

In the meanwhile the latest version's 3.203 and later support dynamic IP on the external interface. So use the v3.208 and it should be working  [;)]

We are using 3.207.

If the DSL line goes down, PPPOE does not restart automatically when the line comes back up, and I can't find any way to restart it manually, except reboot ASL.

hmm, strange.... Another way is to delete the connection and then make a new one. It's not very handy but it works....
