3.050 Bugs

Bugs:

1. Surf Protection thingie still doesn't work properly, you add a profile, then go back to edit it and it asks you for a profile name when you try and save the changes.

2. Virus Protection, you click "Enable" and the little display changes from red to green, then you go somewhere else in admin, go back to SMTP proxy and its gone back to red again.

Wishes:

1. Edit Categories(or at least be able to see whats in them)
2. Add Categories, so you can create a custom category.

IDS:
Some sort of integrated SNORT would be ideal on this product. So that immediate alerts can be sent to selected users, and also daily reports etc.

Fixed:
The open HTTP proxy bug!!! Thank you!! Also this version seems much more stable, once I installed from the ftp site rather than the http site.

    Unfortunatly as well I've found a few bugs in Version 3.050.

    Content filter.
    When i set up the filter for the basic stuff a school would block out...  I can still get to stuff like Pretty bunnies "Playboy"   [:)]e other stuff students should not see.

     This would be nice but if it's not to report the data straight on the firewall it'd be nice to be able to ship all the data back to a SQL "MySQL Oracle ..." server behind the firewall.

    Wish list.
    This is just one thing I've noticed that would be very very handy when comming to administrating proxy settings.

    A setting to be able and remove 1 or various IP's from a network's rule set and give them their own rule set

    As for the IDS That'd deffinatly be nice to integrate Snort into the firewall but leaving it a bit more configurable to the point of a selection say "Local Data" or "Remote Host = " with a few options on database.    [:)]n.

    A differant feature I was looking for but havent seen...  
    Will there be a feature in the Full Production version 3.2 to be able and start a download of websites to block as well as content filtering through dictionary lists?

    My Boss and I are really looking for the content filtering the most sence every school requires content filtering by law.  Oy it makes my job stressfull when our old proxies go down.  Evil Software that i won't say the name of....

    One last thing I was wondering about.

    When a user gets blocked by a filtered page.  Will there be a way for That user to login and bypass the filter?  "Say just incase a Teacher goes to a student's pc and they're doing a report but the data gets blocked"

    Yes I know.  I'm a pain in the rear.

    I have two additional things:

    a) BIND-malconfiguration (explained in detail in "3.0.50 - DNS Forwarder"-topic)

    b) Setting time: If you define 'Europe-Berlin' as your timezone, date gives you a time 2 hours in the future. If you correct the time using webadmin, everything is fine until you reboot. After reboot you are the 2h away again.
