HTTP proxy not working 3.05

Hey Guys,

Just installed 3.05 fresh and resetting it up from scratch. I currenly am running DNS proxy and MASQ out. Both are running correctly. I setup HTTP PROXY as either Transparent or Standard and neither work. When I setup my browser to use port 8080 in Standard mode it just times out. I can not get anyting in. In Transparent mode I cant get anything either.

Again my DNS proxy is working correctly. and NAT is running fine also. I am using PPPoE and version 3.05

Any ideas?

Hi Resistance,

my testsetup works fine...
Are there any dropped IP packets?
Is SQUID running (ps axf)?
Whats in /var/chroot-squit/logs/ cache.log and access.log?
Can you post your HTTP Proxy setup?

Hey Markus,

    Very simple proxy setup just Standard mode, Log level FULL, Anonymity NONE, and allowed networks ANY (this is just for testing).   There is no Content Filters checked or anything configured in the Surf Protection Profiles

My DNS proxy is working currently with allowed Networks MY LAN and FOrwarding Name SErvers 64.105.xxx.xxx.  I have not enabled SOCKS or SMTP at this time.

I am still kinda new to linux.  I know how to SSH into my box. and do some simple stuff.  How do I check to see if SQUID is running?   Is there anything else you want me to check?

Try by typing
"ps -auxf"
in your ssh shell

There you should get a list of processes that are currently running on your system. Look for an entry that is named
"squidf"
Could you send something out of your squid logs (not the access logs). They are in
"/var/chroot-squid/logs/..."
There should be interesting stuff in there.

P.S. Did you allow localhost to access your DNS proxy?
