Installing ASL 3.0.40

Hello,

I want to install ASL 3.0.40beta on an old PC, who does not boot from CD. I just found some older entries, that for 3.xxx a boot-diskette is no longer supportetd. What do I have to do to install ASL? Is it possible to use the boot-diskette of ASL 2.0.16? Or do I have to install 2.0.16 first and then do an upgrade?
