3.040 - pppoe problem

I just tried to install the 3.040 to test it with my ADSL line.

I was able to configure the ASL box in order to connect to the ISP, the interface says it is UP and with a real IP, and I can ping hosts on the internet, but I cannot use the DNS at all so no hostname is resolved.

It seems a problem with the DNS info fetched from tyhe ISP: I checked /etc/resolv.conf and nothing is in there... then I realized that pppoe has a chroot so I tried to see /var/chroot-pppoe/etc/resolv.conf: there I have something like 10 servers listed (but NONE OF THOSE are from my ISP) and I even noticed that all packects to/from these IPs are rejected by the packet filter.

Anyone can guess qhat am I doing wrong??
