POP3 downloader hack possible?

Get your hands on a copy of Fetchmail and configure it to download mail from the POP3 server and forward it to Exchange for final delivery (I use dit for years to do just this). Should work a treat on the ASL machine. Search for fetchmail on www.freshmeat.net for download locations and documentation etc.

I have the same problem but there isn't an internal Exchange server, only ISP SMTP/POP3 server.
Is there a way to make Astaro a POP3 proxy with messages virus scaning?
I suitable fetchmail for doing that?

Yes Fetchmail is used for doing this.   You want to do the same thing I want to.  I by far am a noob when it comes to linux so I am trying to get some help with it.  If I get it working I will post a how to or something about it

there is also another way to pull the POP3 Mails from the ISP an put them into the Exchange Server.
The Program is called PULLMAIL and can be downloaded from http://www.swsoft.co.uk/index.asp?page=freesoftware. It runs under WinXX. Perhaps it coud help.

The best that I have used arePopBeamer

and POPcon There is an english version do a search for the site I cant remember

you sad Fetchmail is suitable for my problem, but I can't understand in which way, because I don't have an internal mail server to which relay the mail, only pop3 clients. So, may you explain?

Sorry I misread your message.  The fetchmail and the programs I listed in my post are for an internal Exchange server running on your network.  (or similar mail server)  I haven't actually got the fetchmail working yet.   Its kinda odd the docs aren't to helpful.  But I am a newbie when it comes to linux

As far as my knowledge goes you'll need some sort of internal storagepoint for your pop3 boxes, so that the internal pc's access that box to receive mail. You can then use a suitable tool to fetch the external pop-mail, do with it what you want, and then deliver it to your internal mail system.

A search on Google makes me wonder if my theorie is correct. Try pop3.proxy. Maybe that is what you are looking for?

Be sure to test it well with the fetchmail keep mail option before using it in a live environment.
Replace the entries in CAPITALS with your own specific values.
