failing to get nic´s up

I have been running earlier betas(3.xx)with the homemade dhcpd for external nic and having that working like a charm, now i decided to try out the new 3.040, i just cant get upp dmz-nic and external-nic(dhcp) i changed nic´s i even tried another computer(leaving it on over night and still nothing). Any ideas on how to get thos up´n running.
