whats your bios option for harddisk? (how old is your bios?)

I had same problem. In my case helped, when I changed BIOS setting from LBA to NORMAL mode, LARGE mode didn't work too.

I am using FIC VA503+ with 256 MB RAM, K6-2/300 MHz and 2.5 GB Seagate disk, BIOS is Award version 4.51. I tried IBM 3.2 GB harddisk with same result.

Hi,
i fixed it:
Board was a Gigabyte 6BXC Bios Revision F3. There is a newer Revision F4Beta, but that did not install (don't know why). I changed the harddrive mode from AUTO to NORMAL and everything went well.
