Hi all and greetings,
I have a question about vrrp (some of you might know it as Virtual Routing Redundancy Protocol).
What does it do ?? ot kan takeover both ip and mac adress from one interface to an other. in other words Failover.
I'm looking into this as i would like to set up two firewalls with failover capability if one fails the other vill take over not just one but all ip's and mac's, the failover on this software (do a search for on some linuk resource site for vrrpd). is realy fast, i don't even lose any packs on ping or any other services 4 that mather.
Hvat i'm looking 4 is a hack that does failover on all nics on my firewall if only one nic(zone) fails. This would give me a perfect uptime on my ASL.
BTW, i'm running ASL on 100Mbit fiber.
I have 5 nicks in my (two) box'es They are both PPRO 200 64mb (no proxies) 6,5 gig disk.
I have throughput on all my nettworks aggregated abt 187Mbit/s no problems [:)]
Thanks 4 your attention.
Brgds Espen
