Hi Astaro Folks

first I want to thank again for this great produkt.

Now my report for Beta 3.020. I finaly found the time to install the new version, and here some ?bugs?. Don't know if you received a report regarding the following points, but I write it down, perhabs it helps you:

- When I change the Intervall in Pattern up2dates "every night or every week", change to another site in webadmin, go back to pattern up2dates, it shows allways "every hour"

- When I create a Site certificate, install it in my Browser as secure Site, surf again to the webadminsite, IE5 5.5 tells me that the Site name is not the same as the name of the certificate.

- under Network/Interfaces, the Line Speed shows allways 10MBit. even if it's physicaly 100MBit.

- under Packet Filter/Rules I have a rule that, when I reboot ASL, I have to manualy disable and re-enable again that the rule works. It's a BCast Drop rule. even if I wait 30 min after reboot the rule don't work.

- I miss the SMTP Live Log, it's a great help for troubleshooting SMTP Problems

Also something positiv:

- The new SMTP Proxy is super

- The new points Log Files and Maintenance are also verry positiv apreciated. makes working with the Firewall much easyer.

My HW:
Pent II 350MHz
256MB RAM
3 NICs
15GB HD IDE

all proxy enabled, no VPN, no Performance problems

I hope this is a little helpfull for you.

go on like this with your product, other great SW developpers (don't want to say neMeS here) should look at your company as a model on how it would be made the right way.

    thank you very much for testing and reporting.

    - Pattern Up2date, Interface and SMTP-Log sections are still in development, so these "bugs" are known  [;)] 

    - Website certificate: can you test it on an alternative browser?

    - Packet Filter / Rules: Can you please tell me if your rule is the first, last, only, .. ?

    - Pattern Up2date, Interface and SMTP-Log sections: O.K. I thougt that it's not yet all implementet.

    - Website certificate: will install an alternative Browser and test it as soon as possible. Think about Opera? Don't want to install Netscape in my LAN.

    - Packet Filter / Rules: it's the second rule of 18. first i have 4 DROP rules and then the rest.
    the last one is also a DROP rule.

    If you need more infos just ask.

    Hello again,

    - Website certificate: I tested it with Opera 6.0 German, and it works without any message. Just installed the Certificate and then Opera doesn't ask anymore.

    - Network Interfaces: I know, it's still in developement, but perhabs you can use this Information also: The .(dot) in the Line speed field can only be seen in the first NIC. With IE 5.5 it can be seen in all three NICs. I have 3 3Com NIC's: 1x 3C905 Cyclone(the one I can see the dot) and 2x 3C905 Fastetherlink.

    So it seams to be a IE 5.5 relatet Problem?!

    hi again,

    - try deleting all asl-related certificates in IE and the reinstall the new one

    - "the dot" -> we'll have a look about this

    Hello Marcel

    - still did not work. same message: "the name of the Certificate is not the same like the name of the site". When I have a look at IE5.5 -> Site Certificates, it shows me in the Certificate: "Firewall Administrator -> Display Name: NONE". But I think when I create the Certificate I can NOT choose a Name for the Site, Only the Hostname of ASL.

    Additional to the never changing 10/100MBit section, only my first NIC is shown with all details, the other twos are not. They are all the same 3Com. This is how it looks like:

    I installed ASL only with two NICs, adding the 3rd later on. I cant remember if it was shown correctly before.

    hello Marius,

    you have to reinstall ASL if you ad a new NIC.
    backup your config->install ASL with 3 NICs and then import the backup.

    Site Certificate: now I have the same problem with Opera, sorry I did not know this program bevor so I thought it would work, but it's not working, same message like IE5.5: Sitename not equal certificate name (short form)

    Thanks, but I can live with it. Things (and NICs) are working, only the details are not listed. If I will run into problems I will reinstall ASL, but thats what I am going to do when the next beta will be released anyway  [:)]
