I noticed in the latest beta that there is a dhcp client already in the distro. I was just wondering if anyone has gotten that to work as opposed to the package in the attic? I toyed with it for a while but failed to get it to go. Any input would be appreciated. Should I try installing the package from the attic and be done with it?
I have not used the 3.020 distro yet. But the 2.1 distro also had a dhcp client, and after great efforts including usign a packet sniffer I was able to get an address from my ISP. Currently I am using the information from the lease file to make sure the address did not change. I have not worked on any scripting to make changes the firewall if my address does change. I will review my notes and post what I did to make this work.
