reverting from 2.1 to 2.0.x

I have just now discovered that 2.1 is a beta version of ASL.

Please make this clear on your ftp server and mirror! There is no indication that 2.1 is not simply the current version of Astaro. Take a look at the ftp directory reference from the astaro site:

ftp://ftp.wiretapped.net/pub/security/operating-systems/astaro-security-linux/

It simply lists 2.1 and 2.0 versions with no indication that 2.1 is potentially very buggy.

We are having a number of problems with 2.1. Is there some way to revert to 2.0.x without reinstalling from scratch? Alternatively is there any indication of when 2.1 will become final or a new beta released?

    thx for the hint. I change the path to "ASL_next_version_BETA" and the announcement text.
     
    Sorry, there is no way to revert to version 2.0 from 2.1. Whats the problem with 2.1?

    Great. That change will help a lot. My main problems are:

    * we are not getting the bug fix updates you are posting for 2.0.x such as 2.0.16

    * we are getting erroneous reports in the packet filter log (kernel). See this thread:

    Are packet filter logs correct?

    * we have had to turn off portscan detection due to the huge number of emails it generates. 100,000 emails later and it flooded our mail server. Portscan should not be able to create DoS on our network.

    * documentation, spelling and grammar issues.

    These are the main things we have discovered with this beta, the only serious one being the reporting of incorrect IP addresses. Please email me privately and I can supply you with detailed logs and routing paths if that helps.
