Install Problems

Hello,

I am trying to isntall 2.1 onto a PIII 800 with an 18gig SCSI LVD Hard Drive and 512megs Ram.

The install goes fine until the end of the password section. I enter all the passwords but after entering the confirmation of the last password (I believe the web admin account) the install does not continue. I get a flashing cursor at the bottom of the screen and nothing else.

Does anyone have any idea how I might get arouind this?

What happen if you reboot the machine ? Does Astaro start at all ? If yes, use https://machine_ip that you have defined during the setup making sure you are on the same subnet ! If not, I'll let other reply.

Astaro does not start. I had ReadHat 7.1 on the system before and the RH boot manager would start up.

I thought that might have been causing a conflict so I booted an MS-DOS Boot disk and did fisk /mbr with no luck. So I then tried Low Level formating the drive. Still no luck. Install works fine it always stops at the same spot. [:(]

The only time that happened to me was when I elected to only install the Open Source packages.
When I said yes to allow proprietary software packages everything went fine.

I'm having the same problem. After specifying a LILO password, the installation hangs. I also suspect that the problem only occurs when I install only the Open Source s/w, and will confirm this shortly.

Does anyone know if there is a fix for this? Will this problem be corrected in future releases? I suppose this means that I cannot use Astaro strictly as an Open Source firewall... [:(]

guess i'm back to raw iptables or ipf on my bsd box...

Don't use any extended characters. Just use [a-z,0-9]

still have the problem. install hangs after entering the lilo password, _unless_ I install the open source AND propr. sw...
