Astaro with wireless NIC's

Does anybody have experience in setting up with a D-Link DWL650 wireless network card.
This is actually a PCMCIA card plugged onto a PCI card reader card.

=> neither the PCI card reader nor the NIC is recognised
=> what steps are needed to get this working

    Hi Jan, 

    this is fairly komplex and can't be done easily without astaro's help.

    You need, the pcmcia package with according drivers patched into the kernel 
    and so on.

    But we are working on an network interface abstraction layer for asl 3.0.
    With this technology we try to extend our support for additional network interfaces.

    in asl 3.0 dhcp, pppoe in the upcoming releases we consoder adding modem, isdn, wan cards, vlan, usb modem(maybe) and wavelan.

    but till then, i am sorry, no wavelan support.

    Jan, as Gert points out, if you need the pcmcia package - you are in for a bit of a job (see my pcmcia hackhack post just a couple of hours ago).

    I successfully managed to get my Cisco Aironet PCI card installed today though.
    Even though you can see that the pcmcia card is just mounted on the pci card/adapter, the Aironet 352 card is a true pci card, not requiring the cardservices from pcmcia.
