pppoe HELP ! ! !

Hi all,

I've change my internet connection for dsl.  I've had succes configuring it on my laptop running Red Hat 7.1 but I unable to figure out what need's to be done on the Astaro.  I am running the latest version, 2.010.  All I've seen doing some search on the site are little piece of info and that it is not yet in the GUI !  I don't mind, I did manage to put it to work with dhcp since last year so I am not afraid if I have to do some work but since the environment between Red Hat and Astaro is different, I need some help !

Tom, is there a paper so far for pppeo, even if it's not the release one ?

    Hi Tom,

    Thanks by the way for this tarball.  One question.  I've succesfully had a connection to the Internet in no time.  The thing is that since I am new to pppoe, I am wondering what should be my default gateway the 0.0.0.0 route ?  Where should it point to ?  The pppoe interface or the actual nic, eth1 ?  Cause the firewall is pinging the Internet but my workstations in my LAN are not working although I've set up masquarading and a packet filter rule.

    Thanks in advance and by the way, I'll be testing 2.100 soon as I have pppoe working.  Keep the good work.

    Don't worry, this one was on purpose.

    I've run the iptables line you've mentionnes and for sure the masquerade entry point to eth1 !  I've gone through files in /etc/wfe/conf but with no luck !

    btw, I am running 2.100

    What is this subroutine you are talking about ?  Is it an iptables line I have to run ?

    Hi Benoit,

    please change in your config the "default first sentence": replace tom with markus ;-)))))
     
    Your default route (0.0.0.0) should point to the remote ppp0 IP (thats what i assume: DSL is the connection to the internet).
    Your masq rules must using ppp0 as interface, im afraid i forget a subfunction that will do this automatically. iptables -L -nv -t nat will show you the masq rules - are these set to eth* ? If yes, this is wrong....
