IP Interface aliasing NOT >11

why would you like to do that?

Isn't it easier to add a static route on the router in front of the Astaro with the same effect ?

Its necessary in environments where you dont own the router and you cant get owner to make the appropriate mods.

Out of curiousity, whats so special about the number 11? why not 16, 32 or some other nice power of two?

If you need the IPs to be available in the DMZ or LAN you should set a static interface route on the Astaro and switch on proxy ARP on the ext. interface. Read the complete routing section in the FAQ, this will help you to set it up.

ok that one was a bug.  [:)]xed.

you can have up to 100 virt. interfaces on each HW iface now.

If you want the FW to swallow packets for whole networks, use proxy ARP and interface routes instead.
