Error installing Beta 3

OK, I have been having problems with beta 2 and 3 now.  With beta 2 see Here

With beta 3 getting this error after select keyboard type.

Attempt to access beyond end of device
16:00 rw=0 want=149982 limit=149980
--- repeats about 5 times ----

You are now in a bash shell, enter 'exit' to continue install.

When I 'enter exit' it just drops me out of the shell and into never never land.  Nothing continues.

Any advice?  System currently has 1.811 installed on a 10GB IDE drive.  I have not changed any partitions or the system set up in any way.  System complies to minimum install hardware.  All though when install starts I'm not sure but I thought I might have seen it detect my P133 as a P70.  However the error doesn't seem to reflect  this.

Thoughts?   [:S]

sorry for the slow reaction in this matter.

we are aware of the problem and trying to nail it down.

problem is that we do not have a system where it fails [:)]

P.S.:my install problem is when I type exit
my computer displays "exit" and than it does
nothing.

Hi,

Getting the same thing, stops after i enter the "exit".

System: Dell Optiplex GX1, P3 450, 256mb RAM,
8gb IDE disk, 3C905B network card.

hi everybody,
so....what's about....is a beta version.
The problem is the keyboard layouts,
if you install with italian or spanish you got my error(see on the top);
if you install with US layout you got the error of iDiC;
to make a good installation you must install
with german or french layouts and then it's
all OK (good luck for the letters on the keyboard).

P.S.: what a shit in italy(where I live)they (the politicians) want politicizise the
problem of the hunger in the world.

Excellent job Micio.  Now if I could get a '@' typed for an email address I would be happy.  I have to type CTRL-ALT-Q to get it on my keyboard, which seems to mean Quit to the install program.  Sugestions (besides wait till beta 4)

hi iDiC,
with my keyboard I type Ctrl-q with german
layout or Ctrl-0 with french one.

hi everybody,
iDiC ,I think that my keyboard layout is different, so you can try with the first tab
on the right after the space-bar(is my AltGr
tab)with ..-q or ..-0 (zero)or with Ctrl-q or Ctrl-0 not with Canc tab.
I hope this should be helpful for you.

P.S.:I'm not english language native so sorry
if my english lang. isn't good.

Hi tom,
did you read this bug about the keyboard layouts on the installation program?
Please another little bit of your job only
to implementig PPP dial-up on ASL(what a great product) because I'm not able to do what Darryl Smith says on the other topic or if you can tar a file so I (and a lot of person I think) can put in ASL.

Well ... Thanks to Micio I did get up and running.

NOTES OF INTREST WITH A NORTH AMERICAN ENGLISH KEYBOARD.

- selected German Keyboard layout.
   - to type 'yes' was keystrokes 'zes'
   - the '@' charecter is the right side ALT
     key and 'q'     (after much trial and
     error).

Hope this helps.  Hope I remembered every that slowed me down.
