1.92 Install fails

I have still had no joy installing 1.92.

The install hangs after formatting all the partitions saying "The OpenSource software is being installed... 0%". (This is in stage 7 of 9.)

A little earlier in the process a couple of messages flash at the bottom of the screen the screen, but not for long enough to read what they say.

Can anyone point me to a way to access logs, or otherwise diagnose what might be going wrong? (I tried Alt+2 etc to access other consoles to no avail.)

The machine in question is a P100 with 140MB RAM, and a 4GB IDE drive and two PCI network cards. I can install 1.8x on it without any particular problems.

Hello ian,

I assume your burned CD isn't OK. Please try to burn again, and don't forget to check the md5 sum before [;)]

I have checked the md5sums, reburned - with different burning software (different versions of Toast under MacOS and OS X). And now I tried with the new 1.93 and it hangs in exactly the same place.

It looks more to me like something about my system, but the exact same system does work with 1.811... And I'm not quite sure what to try.

Most puzzling and a tad frustrating.

Being able to switch to another console would be very useful!
