Hang installing 1.92

So after a couple of attempts I get the install going and it gets as far as generating configuration files. It just hangs after reporting:

Generating configuration files (3).....Failed

No other apparent error messages. Is there a method that I am missing to see log files. (Alt+2, Alt+3 etc do not bring up other consoles as with some installs.)

1.811 installed with no apparent problems on this old Dell P100 with a 4GB drive and 140 or so MB RAM.

While I am commenting the choice of keyboard layouts is nice, even nicer if UK English were included.

hello ian,

i had the same problem, until i noticed that i used the old bootdisk from ASL 1.811.

make a new boot disk from the version of ASL you want to install, and all will be o.k.

Well that is it sort of.

When I use the boot disk from the 1.92 CD then it hangs even earlier, after formatting the various partitions and beginning installing the software. It just stays at 0%.

I am still stuck unable to install 1.92. It hangs at stage 7 of 9 and says that 0% has been installed.

I am a little suspicious because there is what might be an error message that flashes at the bottom of the screen while it is detecting hardware. Is there some way I can get at any logs? As I said before Alt+2 etc did not work.
