Hi All,
Well the idea to make a Mail Archive is great! The features that are now offered are maybe "tuned" for M$ Exchange but there are other mail servers on the market.
For example I use a Unix/Linux/M$-compatible OS mail server. It supports IMAP(S)/POP(S) and webmail.
When I first configured to use IMAP-SSL, I thought it would copy the mail in my inbox to the AMA. Instead it pulled all my mails from my inbox so AMA has the mails and my inbox is empty!!! I think this is not the reason is why IMAP(S) is created. It stores it on a central server, so any where you are you can access your mail. This is the opposite of POP(S) which indeed "takes" the mail from the mail server and put it in your mail-client.
Also the mail folders in the inbox ( a level lower) aren't pulled (I preferred copied). Maybe I miss the idea of AMA, but I think you want a complete (backup) of all your mail. So mail you have, send and receive(d)... Maybe this is because it's in an test stage.
Also when you use the smart host option in ASG V7, it won't work...
