i just found another error message in the accd.log:

    Looks like that a required previous notification to erase the ppp0 interface was not received ... hence the accd complains he cannot insert the information again. 

    Such an erase notification should have been issued when the interface is removed - in case of a pppX interface this could also happen when the interface is going down and removed from /etc/active_interfaces on the respective device.

    Normally, the accd should only receive a set (modify) notification as it already knows about the interface.

    How often does the interface on the ASG switch state?

    Hi Henning,

    the message happend after a hardreset of the firewall. the customer should reset the modem, but he pulled all plugs! [;)]

    it's the first and only time i saw this message.

    Hi Mario,

    I once had a customer who wanted to test his UPS ... also pulled the plug - the one ending at the power supply of the computer, not the UPS one ... *duh*

    Okay, we'll keep this one open and see if we can find some time to reproduce it next week in QA ...
