  • It seems to me that when you're logged into the web interface the timeout that logs you out happens way to fast. I have it set to the max (120 minutes), but I can end up back at the wen interface login page in just a few minutes Anyone else seeing this?

(Then again, when I have multiple Sophos tabs open in Safari, weird things happen with tabs closing themselves, etc. Doesn't seem to happen under any other conditions.)

[Edited to clarify the first sentence as referring to login/logout of the web interface, not the log view.]

  • You mean the Logviewer? This is "until the appliance is full" - Which depends on the appliance size. Smaller boxes will quicker be overwriting.

  • I login to the XGS via the web interface. I have 120 minutes set as the timeout under Admin settings. In the past, it has pretty much been 120 idle minutes before I was logged out and the web interface login showed up in my browser. But in EAP1 I can go back to the page maybe 15 minutes later and I'm back at the login prompt and I have to login. Or not at the login prompt but its unresponsive until I refresh the page and then I'm back at the web interface login.

  • Just happened to me again and this time I'm sure. Posted the above "1 hour ago" according to the posting, and just went to refresh a graph and nothing happened -- no spinning disk, nothing. So refreshed the page and, voila, I was back to the login.

I had been interpreting the limit as 120 minutes of idle. But maybe it's literally 120 minutes from login -- even if you're in the middle of doing something. I'd suggest removing the limit or allowing it to bump up to 1000 minutes if that's the case.
