I noticed in a SandStorm report there is now a VirusTotal section, is this something that was added recently as I did not see it on earlier reports.

Sandstorm reports have been greatly enhanced in v18. This include a link to the sha256 within virustotal for many reports.

I worked a lot on this feature and we've gotten very little feedback. I like to think that it is because it works perfectly, and I'm scared to think it is because nobody uses it. :)

Weird.

Since Sandstorm receive submitted files from users, I was on the impression Sophos could monitor SandsTorm v18 usage ...

We know exactly how many files are submitted, we have lots of monitoring. We don't know how many admins have looked at the reports.

Excellent, VirusTotal is a great resource, I highly suggest their VT4Browsers plugin, especially for FireFox.
