AP55C needed a reboot

Hi All,

We just had a situation where wireless connectivity was very poor - 60-80% packet loss and 200-500ms ping times. There was only one device connected, and signal strength was good.

After trying different channels I eventually rebooted the AP and it came good as soon as it was back online - no packet loss and 1-2ms ping times.

Is this a known bug? We tell our customers that by paying $500 for an AP instead of $50 for an AP that they get a much better and more reliable product, so having something like this happen is a bit embarrassing.

The latest AP firmware was installed on the XG device, but I can't tell if the AP had picked it up or not.

awed.log is peppered with this every 15 seconds or so for the last few days

Any suggestions?

Thanks

  • Hi James,

What is the Frequency Band defined in the Wireless Network definition for the affected SSID? The issue could be caused due to congestion in the frequency band. Verify with a third party frequency scanner to check the congestion in the area and then configure the AP to work on a less used frequency band and a stable channel.

    Thanks
