How to setup 2 subnets on a xg210

We just purchased 4 xg210 for our network.  on the old subnet scheme which is /24, well I am running out of IP for our devices and was hoping with the XG210 I could change the subnet slowly to a /20, this why I would not take down the entire network at one time which would take around 24 hours to make all the changes.  The other issue is that the current network setup is on unmanaged switches (yes i know, but at this time cant fix this issue).   Is their anyway to do this?  If Yes, can you please help the configuration of this, as I am new to this game of high-security stuff.

Thanks,

James

Update to the above...

No DCHP server, all IP are assigned manually.

  • Hi James,

the ease of change really depends on where you DHCP server is? You can setup an alias so the second IP range is used on that or just change the XG internal interface to a /20 and then change your DHCP server. The only issue is with devices that have fixed IP address so they will have to be manually changed.
