Users can access internet without permissions

hello everyone

i have noticed some of employees can access the internet although they not allowed

so i have traced the problem, i will give you details and hope you can help me

first of all i have installed STAS to give access to the internet to specific employees

lets say User1 can go online through HR Rule

he got IP x.x.x.10 and he can access the internet without problem

on other hand User2 is not allowed to go online but User1 turned off his PC

now User2 is trying to get IP from DHCP and he got IP x.x.x.10

now User2 can access the internet because of his IP was previously assigned to user who can access the internet

anyone faced this issue before ?

i would be appreciate any help

thx

  • When user2 logs in STAS should reassign the IP address to the new user. Have you checked the Live users list in the STAS and which IP the user2 shows? Does it not match what the Live Users in the XG shows or is the IP repeaped?

Another way to solve this would be configuring a shortes session timeout.

  • i have checked the live users and found out that user2 is accessing the internet with user1 credentials

i mean that his ip using user1 credentials to connect to the internet

i have followed ur advice and set Maximum Session Timeout = 10

    and Simultaneous Logins = 1

shall i configure Simultaneous Logins in groups section too ??

  • You should not need to configure Simultaneous logins, because the user1 is still assigned to only 1 IP address. What you should check is the Live Users tab in the STAS, because for some reason, after user2 logs in, it's not changing the user associated with that ip, and that's the main issue.
