Why does my AP55c talk to the internet?

Hi,

I notice in today's report and looking at the logs that my AP55c is talking to the internet via port 443? It tries to talk out both ISP connections, but fails on the second one because it is not part of the clientless group for that ISP.

I will replace it with an AP55 to see what happens.

  • Sophos APs can be managed via Sophos Central  or via Firewall (UTM, XG).

    In Initial Setup, the Accesspoints send some Discovery Packets to the Magic IP 1.2.3.4 AND to some Sophos Cloud server, so the user has the possibility to mange the AP from Cloud or from UTM (Not both at the same time but either the one or the other).

  • Hi Huber,

    I have never managed any of my UTMs or XGs from the cloud and this unit was a fresh build yesterday. The AP55 doesn't send any packets out.
