Adaptive Load Balancing

Is there a way to do adaptive load balancing? I have two WAN links and would like the Sophos Device (XG 210) to monitor throughput on each WAN link and assign weights accordingly. The reason for this is that sometimes due to issues with one of the ISPs the one of the WAN links would slow down and we have to readjust the weights so that the other WAN link takes up more load. Is there a way the device can be configured to monitor and measure the performance of a WAN link.

Regards

  • Unfortunately, the XG is not able to perform adaptive Load Balancing. It simply works on a weight system that you assign and can only detect whether the link is up or a down through a ping or tcp test.

It would be best to use a dedicated Load Balancer to achieve your goals.
