web exceptions when using client authentication

Is there a method of allowing web exceptions on a machine that is using the client authentication app.

when using the client authentication, we are unable to access the sites placed in the web exceptions

we are looking to implement this feature, yet we need to allow the computers to be able to update windows and its sophos endpoint.

is there a method of doing this? we are using XG135 and windows clients

  • Hi Elisha,

Are the clients authenticating themselves via the authentication app before trying to update? There are default settings in Web > Exception for Microsoft and Sophos Endpoint updates; you need to simply enable them. Alongside, if you want these websites to be allowed in all instances (also without authenticating the clients) then, configure an FQDN rule with destination URLs defined in the Destination Network of Firewall Rule and place this rule on the TOP. Refer to, How to Configure FQDN Host in Sophos Firewall.

    Thanks

  • Thank you for your reply.

we are looking to have the updates be available at all times, even if a client is not logged into their machine. so i have been trying to place a rule as you suggested to allow the sites to be accessible.

i will look at the link you provided and return here to tell you how it went.

    Thank you!
