Sophos XG Firewall Home Edition on XG Hardware?

Question

Hi All, 
 
 Looking at buying a XG105 for home but need to know if i can sign up for Sophos XG Firewall Home Edition license and use on the box? or is it a virtual license only?

 If you are purchasing a commercial licence, then yes. A home licence does not expire.

The Base License in Commercial license also does not expire. 
 All Subscriptions will expire. 
 Home License does not expire.

 You can. You would buy the box without an enterprise license and register you Home License on it instead. 
 If you have an older computer laying around, you can use that instead. Just add a second NIC and a 60GB SSD (if you don't already have 2 network cards or an SSD drive installed). Then install the Sophos Home software.

 Yes, once the license period ends, you can roll back to Home. The licensing at Sophos is affordable and very forgiving. You may find yourself buying another 2-3 years. 
 If you are using the firewall box as an Access Point (through the built in antenna system), I would get the XG 125w as it has AC. If not or if you are using the firewall box as a Wi-Fi controller of external APs, then the the XG 105 will be fine.
