Authentication via LDAP Server for SFM

Hey all,

We want to add a LDAP Server to the SFM. (System Settings -> System -> Authentication Server -> Add -> LDAP)

We configured the connection and the test is succesful. We also can see traffic via tcpdump to the server when we "Get Base DN".

The Authentication Preference is set to 1. LDAP Server,  2. Local.

We tried to login via a LDAP User Account on the Web Portal it fails and we also cant see any traffic from the SFM to the LDAP Server

Does someone already configured these ?

Or is someone able to trie this in ther enviroment ?

Regards,
Max

  • Hi Max,

Behavior of LDAP with the XG and SFM.

XG : After adding LDAP configuration, users are automatically imported in XG when user login in Captive Portal.

SFM: After adding LDAP configuration, users are not automatically imported in SFM. You have to create external users in SFM manually. This is the behavior of SFM since inception of CCC.

Once you add ldap configuration in SFM, please create external users in SFM manually and check the status of the issue.

Steps to create external users in SFM

    1. Login to SFM/iView and configure authentication server setting which you have already created.

    2. Go to users page
SFM (System & Monitor > System Settings > Administration > User)

    2. Create external user using LDAP AD user's credential and select the role which you want to apply the same to users like below screenshot for SFM.

    4. Once you perform above steps, checked the status of the issue by login using ad user credentials in SFM.
