Unir Red 15 a XG105

I am trying to join a RED15 to an XG 105, I have added a new interface as the guides say, but it does not synchronize well.
the red15 I have simply connected the wan port to the internet, in theory you will have to give an ip per dchcp, but I do not know if you are giving it correctly, how can I access this device?
If you could pass me a link or video where I explain well the whole process of union of the two devices I would appreciate it.
Greetings and thank you.

  • Hi Rafael,

it is the same procedure as on UTM only the Logfiles are others.

     1. You cannot access RED on Console this login is reserved for Support Staff.

     2. Log Information is collected in XG Firewall

    - /log/csc.log --> RED Connection Details

    - /log/red.log --> RED Status Info

    RED Provisioning works as follows:

    1. you configure the RED Connection in XG Firewal.

    2. XG Firewall connects red.astaro.com (Provisioning Service) on Port TCP/3400 to push your Configuration

    3. RED device periodically connects to red.astaro.com on Port TCP/3400 to request its configuration

    4. RED tries to reach the XG Firewall  on Port TCP3400 (Control Connection) and UDP/3400 / UDP/3410 (SSL VPN) RED Tries three times to reach XG Firewall. If the Connection is not possible it returns to ask Provisioning Service for new Configuration.

The State of the RED is Coded in LED Lights beeing on or of.

you can find the Status Code description in RED Quickstart Guide.

    yours Lukas

  • Thank you very much, I do all the steps and nothing, how can I check that my XG Firewall connects red.astaro.com?
Would I have to open the TCP3400 anyway?
    Thank you.

  • Hi Rafael,

if you are able to enable the RED Feature in XG Firewall, then it was able to connect the Provisioning Service.

Please look for the LED Status Codes on the RED Device and make sure it got an DHCP IP adress ( watch the log of the DHCP Server ).

if you have no dhcp Server on the WAN Site of your RED you can provision it via USB Teahtering (connect your Smartphone via USB and enable Internet Sharing) or you can provision it via USB Media and maualy set uplink Params.

  • hello Ina, thanks for the answer, I attached screenshots of my configuration, it is all correct, but Network 15 does not hook, in the network it serves an ip for dchcp, I do not know if it is necessary to open a port to do it well.

    a greeting.

  • hello again, I have changed the line and now it is enabled to the internet led, but the tunnel does not raise it because it can be ??

    regards

  • Please describe your setup and what you have done step by step.

is a DHCP Server available in the Uplink Network you connected the WAN Port of the RED?

if not did you provision via USB teathering or USB Stick Config File?

  • Yes, the following LEDs are on:
POWER - SYSTEM - ROUTER - INTERNET and WAN
the TUNNEL LED remains blinking for a few seconds and RED 15 restarts and attempts to reconnect.

    thanks.

  • everything seems fine.

do you have access to the NAT Router in front of the RED device?

Please Check if it allows the RED to connect your Public IP on Port TCP 3400 and UDP 3410

if you cannot access that NAT Router you could connect a PC directly to the Router and try to telnet your XGs Public IP on Port 3400.

do you see any lines in /log/red.log ?

do you see any lines in /log/csc.log ?

  • I have made a telnet from the router that is in front of the RED to the public IP and the port 3400 and yes that works for me. but I connected a laptop to RED15 on port LAN1 and it does not work for me.

I found the log redo.log, I give you several examples.
but the log csc.log can not find it.

    a greeting.

  • ok.

    last chance:

do you have any RED Firmware installed in Pattern Repo of XG (System >> Backup & Firmware >> Pattern Updates)?

XG ships without AP and RED Firmware.

Otherwise please contact Support and post the solution here please.

    Yours Lukas

  • I have tried everything and connects a few seconds and then disconnects. I have already contacted the support service. Thank you.
