Purpose of SFM & iView Integration ?

All,

I'm just playing around with SFM and iView and I'm trying to figure out what the real purpose or value is of integrating SFM & iView. Is it really just the ability to click and get redirected, or does it actually fulfill some really useful purpose that I just can't figure out?

    Hi Rogue,

    SFM will helpful when you have multiple XG firewall and you want to manage all firewall centrally and need to push same configuration on all XG device.

     

    iView will be helpful when you to capture all logs and report centrally from different XG device.

    I get that I just am not clear on what using the integration setup really does for you. From what I can tell after you integrate you can click and it redirects you do iView, is that all it really does or is there more of a purpose?

    Just thought about this again..

     

    So can I send all logs to *ONLY* iView which then forwards to SFM? instead of having to send logs to iView AND SFM? It's confusing because how do I know what to send to iView vs SFM or just sending everything to iView and nothing to SFM? I alert from SFM (for say a virus) so will that still function or do I need to duplicate logs still?

    Hopefully iView would take care of everything, I'm just not sure at this point..

    Only bummer is that iView currently doesn't do encrypted syslog which SFM does..
