Installing on Netgate 2440?

I'm trying to install on the Netgate 2440, however it doesn't have VGA support. I can connect using a serial port(USB cable) - see the appliance boot up, select my USB drive(formatted with RUFUS - option: DD) and then nothing happens, just a blank black screen.

Is it even supported to install in this headless maner?

The verison i'm trying is V17.0.1 MR1-98.

Im running V17 now. Its a bit slow navigating the GUI but other than that its perfectly fine.

Hi Jacob,

It appears it doesn't work with XG firewall? I can't get it to accept the iso, and removing the check from the sh executable just throws alot of errors.

Hi Henrik,

Actually Trevor made a speciel ISO for me which you can still download here:

That one installed succesfully. Its a version 16 and then i just upgraded via the GUI from here on. One thing to notice if you decide to try the same. After doing an upgrade to v17 beta via the GUI the management ip reset itself to 172.16.16.16 again. That might not happen to you but now you know :)

I downloaded that iso and burned it to a usb flash drive. It didn't give me the option to write in dd though. Tried to boot to it in the netgate appliance and the putty screen just shows it black and it doesn't install.

Got any clear instructions?

I've followed instructions, even using a spare msata drive I had and it does see the msata drive and still doesn't work. I used two .iso files I got off your website. One called asg-sophos-new.iso and one called asi-9.409-9.1.iso

Also just to clarify, does this work with the XG series software?
