After researching a few FW, UTM, and content filtering solutions, I find that the XG is a pretty darn capable piece of software. However, it is not a one-stop solution for me and I suspect many others share this view - essentially that the XG definitely has a role in their network but as part of a larger set of gear protecting the perimeter and users within.
Along this line of thinking, I have considered deploying this in concert with another DPI firewall but am curious to hear feedback both from the user community as well as the Sophos folks.
Does anyone share this idea of deploying the XG in a complimentary role? If so, how and what have you folks done? Any concerns, lessons learned, feedback, etc.?
In my experience, some of the best deployment oriented ideas come directly from real-world deployment experiences and use-cases.
