I want to know if what firmware is the most compatible to my appliance (SOPHOS FIREWALL XG 310)?

Question

I have SOPHOS XG310 running with SFOS 16.05.8 MR-8 firmware and some new firmware appear HW-SFOS_17.0.0_GA.SF300-80 and SFOS 17.0.0 GA, I want to know if what firmware is the most compatible to my appliance and what would be the difference between the three firmware version? 
 I would like to know also, what is the firmware version type "GA" means?

 Sophos releases hardware specific firmware for every modal. New firmware flashing on your dashboard will always be compatible.
