Sophos Bridge Interface and Segregating traffic inside the switch using VLAN's

Hello All,

I hope u will be able to help me.

I'm using bridge interface which gives me nice one subnet segregation. Everything works fine only if every interface Port1, Port3,... inside bridge have separate switches for each port.

But this is impossible in real environment and I need to bring everything working under one switch. So I try using VLAN's inside the switch only and fail badly. I think because switch try to route package to the bridge interface IP and IP is the same for all the VLAN's. This is just my theory...

If that is the case is there a way how could I achieve this? Switch is dell N1548 series.

Thanks

Zee

  • Hey

Could you explain why you would like to bridge the interfaces on the XG firewall, when you already have VLANs defined on your Dell switch?

I would suggest instead to create VLAN sub-interfaces on your single XG LAN interface, to manage the tagged packets coming from your switch.
