downgrading from V17 GA to beta?

Hi 

Just wanted to confirm if i would experience any issues if i were to downgrade to V17 beta from GA?  Will i have to load from a backup or would it all be smoothly as it is when upgrading?

I currently have an issue with the XG locking out every 2 days needing a reboot.
