I'm a bit lost here, but here's the setup.
Previously, my company was using the old Cisco VPN IPsec client to establish VPN connections for remote users. Due to network changes, we have moved every site to Sophos XG firewalls. With that, the old Cisco IPsec client was replaced with the Sophos SSL VPN client. All was well. Except it wasn't.
Users began reporting that speeds were significantly decreased. I tested this and found the SSL VPN client seems to throttle bandwidth to near unworkable speeds. In some cases, when the users are at client sites, SSL VPN can't even get out.
So, I'm left with trying to figure out how to get an IPsec client up and running. I know there are several clients out there. I've narrowed it down to two choices: Sophos IPsec VPN Client and the Shrewsoft client. Which client works best with the XG firewalls? Are there other options that would be better?
Also, I am having great difficulty understanding exactly how to set this up on the firewall. Can anyone point me in the direction of a walkthrough for setting up IPsec?
Thanks.
