MR8 HA Setup virtual XG

Hello,

 

I configured HA, but after that the virtual XG have been unresponsive, so I disabled ha via the XG console. After that the auxiliary device did something like a factory reset - which is fine because I know that from UTM.

 

But know I cant setup the auxiliary device anymore, because I cant setup HA via the initial Interface. Also I cant use my Serial Number for the auxiliary device, because this number is already used.

If I click on Trial I get redirected to the Sophos Portal aswell and I get the same message "serial number already used"

 

If I do a "system diagnostics show version-info" I can see that both XG's use the same serial number.

 

Any advise?

    Hi, did you clone your first virtual appliance. In order to work you need two different serial number. Regards,

    Hi,

    yes we did clone the VM. But for my understanding the Serial Number is a licensing thing and I dont have a license for the "passive unit". Before MR8 I was able to do a "configure auxilliary device" via the Web UI. This was not possible here.

    I did a factory reset of the device via CLI and after that I get presented another version of the wizard which had the option to configure the auxiliary device.

     

    For me it looks like a misconception in the "activation flow" of MR8.
