Sophos SG 330 - Fehlermeldung [INFO-152] Network Monitor not running - restarted

Ich bekomme in der letzten Zeit relativ häufig  (mehrmals am Tag)

 

folgende Fehlermeldung:

 

Network Monitor not running - restarted

--

HA Status          : HA SLAVE (node id: 1)

System Uptime      : 25 days 4 hours 5 minutes

System Load        : 0.20

System Version     : Sophos UTM 9.503-4

Was bedeutet diese Fehlermeldung?

Welchen Einfluß hat der Neustart auf den laufenden Betrieb?

Wie kann man die Ursache des Neustarts verhindern?

    (Sorry, my German-speaking brain isn't creating thoughts at the moment. [:(])

    I don't recall this being a problem if it's the only process restarting.  Have you tried a reboot?

  • Ich habe bisher keinen Neustart durchgeführt, da immer einige VPN Verbindungen offen sind und zahlreiche REDs weltweit mit dem System kommunizieren.

    Aus meiner Erfahrung heraus stürzen Unix Prozesse nicht so häufig ab und müssen auch nicht neu gestartet werden.

    Was sind die Aufgaben des Network Monitors in der Sophos?

     

  • Looking at the log, it appears to take care of resolving Availability Groups and managing similar things like Uplink Monitoring, Uplink Balancing and Server Load Balancing.  That it occasionally restarts shouldn't cause a problem.

    If I were your reseller, I would recommend that you get a second 330 to have as a Hot Standby.  With that, you could reboot with virtually no downtime and have the security of knowing that the failure of one unit would not take everything down.  A failover causes the interruption of uploads and downloads and the end of any VoIP calls in progress.
