XG230 to Red50 DHCP Relay

We are trying to remove our DHCP servers from our branch offices. The Main office / DHCP Server is behind an XG230. We have no VLANs on our switches and our Red50's are in Standard/Unified mode. Switchport Mode is set to Switch. What settings do I need on the Red50 for DHCP broadcast to reach the DHCP server behind the XG230?

I also believe I need to set up a "DHCP Relay" but I am not sure what interface to use, the port on the XG or the port on the RED50.

Everything is working fine in our current config with a DHCP server at each location but the servers are getting up in age and we are looking to just do away with two of them.

I added a "DHCP Relay" with an interface of the Red50. It is still not working. I am not sure if I need to change the red50 from Switch to VLAN mode? I don't have any VLAN's though.

Are there any step by step directions on setting up a relay in this confusing interface?

did you try to enable relay over IPSec?

Adam,

create a Firewall rule from the zone where the red belongs to the LAN zone where the DHCP server where service is Any.

Check if this works and then reduce the rule by adding only udp 68-68 and as destination network only the DHCP server.

We have a Red50 Rule: LAN: Any to LAN: any / Any Service.

What is the "RED IP*"? I believe that is the Gateway address?

DHCP relay still does not work. We have had that rule in place for a long time. We have two other Red50's that have DHCP servers giving out addresses on their LAN, and they use that rule. I have a third red50 that I am testing with to get DHCP relay working.

Adam,

from advanced shell type:

tcpdump -A -s0 | grep -i "xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx" (change the XG with remote pc mac-addresse)

and on another windows, open XG console and use the command drop-packet-capture

drop-packet-capture "port 67"

Show the logs.

What version of firmware are you running?
