SSLVPN Performance - Straw Poll!

According to the Cyberoam literature, the old Cyberoam devices should have been cable of quite impressive SSLVPN speeds, however we're currently seeing quite bad speeds from full tunnel VPNs via speedtest.net. I'm now running XG on these devices, and on the new XG devices I'd expect to see even better speeds. I've not seen any published SSL VPN speeds for XG devices, but I'd expect greater than 30Mbit/sec sustained throughput.

If you have a full tunnel set up to a remote firewall, with enough bandwidth to get over 30Mbit/sec in both directions, would you mind doing a speed test for me please and posting to this thread?

Even changing to UDP and the lowest encryption, I can't seem to get above 28Mbit/sec

Here is a speedtest.net result from a 400Mbit/400Mbit connection (CLIENT) to a 100Mbit/100Mbit connection (SERVER - CR50iNG) - SSL Settings - Default.

  • Sophos VPN is just awful.

I have symmetric gigabit on the server AND client side and get....30 mbps if im lucky.  And that's after disabling all security and lowering encryption to the weakest.  UDP makes no different either.
